The result of National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) has been declared. The test was held on June 24, 2012 and it was for the first time that all the three papers of the examination comprised of objective type questions.

The examination was taken up by 5,71,627 candidates out of which a total of 3625 candidates successfully qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) whereas 40332 candidates qualified for Lectureship.

The minimum aggregate qualifying percentage was 65% for general candidates, 60% for OBC (NC) candidates and 55% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
