Southern Railway invites applications from Indian Citizens for recruitment against Cultural and Scouts & Guides quota for the year 2012-13.

Position and vacancies:

• Cultural quota – 2 (1 post for Classical Dance-Bharatnatyam/Kuchpudi/Mohiniattam reserved for female candidates only and 1 post for Instrumental-Violin/Guitar/Keyboard)
• Scouts & Guides (GP `1900) – 2
• Scouts & Guides (GP `1800) – 12

Eligibility:

• Cultural quota – Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Music from Government recognized Institute. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the field, given performance on AIR/Doordarshan, etc. and prizes won at national level.
• Scouts & Guides quota – President’s Scout/Guide/Ranger/Rover or Himalayan Wood Badge Holder or Pre-HWB trained Scout leader/ Advanced trained Guide/ Leader/ Captain. Candidates should have been a member of a Scouts organisation for at least three years in recent past and continue to be  a member of the same, and should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two events at State level or should have a good level of participation in Scouts/Guides at District level.

Age limit: Between 18 to 30 years for GP `1900 and between 18 to 33 years for GP `1800. Age relaxation applicable for OBC/SC/ST/departmental/widow/divorced women/judicially separated women/ex-servicemen/domiciles of Kashmir division of Jammu & Kashmir/physically disabled candidates.

Salary: Pay band `5200-20200 with grade pay of `1900 (for Cultural and Scouts & Guides quota) and grade pay of `1800 (for Scouts & Guides quota).

• Examination fee of `40 is to be paid in the form of Demand Draft or Indian Postal Orders drawn in favour of ‘Assistant Personnel Officer/Recruitment’ payable at Chennai. Exemption of fees for SC/ST//PWD/ex-servicemen /women/minority/economically backward classes’ candidates.
